This Crazy Fun Life!!!

it may be crazy but it sure is fun!

Oh my! How could it be??? Our precious ‘lil Nate is 2!!!

It’s quite shocking how quickly our ‘lil boy has grown!  This past month we celebrated Nate’s second birthday and had such an amazing time! The theme was farmyard fun and was soooo much fun putting together.  Here are some ideas and tips if you are looking to throw a farmyard bash!

This sign was made using scrap wood from the Home Depot. The lettering was hand painted after tracing letters that were cut out using the Cricut.

This tractor was made using cardboard boxes, spray paint, empty food cans, and lettering made using the Cricut.  I will be posting a tutorial on how to make this cardboard tractor in a later post.

The hats and hankies were purchased from and the play tools were purchased from Wally World.  We got the hay bales from the local farm feed and cut up different colors of “by-the-yard” gingham fabric to dress up the bales.

The sign was hand-painted, scarecrow from, and the recycled egg cartons with plastic candy filled eggs.

Not exactly the technique I had in mind for “bobbin’ for apples”….but the kids had a blast!

I put this “produce stand” together with by connecting 3 wooden crates from Michaels with plastic zip ties.

I got these bubbles from the Dollar store and replaced the labels with home-made ones.

This sangria was definitely a hit with the adults!  Click HERE for the yummy recipe!

These mini apple pies were so much fun to make!  They tasted absolutely delicious and we had them for breakfast the next morning with a deliciously bad scoop of vanilla ice cream! yumm!!

The “haystacks” were made from chow mein noodles and melted butterscotch morsels.  Check out the recipe HERE.

Planning for this party was just so much fun!  Even though it was definitely a lot of work, in the end it was worth it all just to see Nate beaming from ear to ear!  I am so thankful to all of my family for pitching in and letting me recruit them to be a part of my little workshop! 🙂
